Butter Frosting |

Instructions Combine milk,. sugar and flour in a sauce pan. Mix well, put on stove top to heat. Bring to a boil stirring constantly. When the mixture starts to boil stir vigorously for 50 seconds and remove sauce pan from flame immediately. Stir until the boiling stops. Place a piece of plastic wrap directly on the mixture in pan. Cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until cold - at least 2 hours. Chill your mixer bowl at the same time. Spoon milk/flour mixture into the chilled mixer bowl, add cold butter and vanilla. Beat at a high speed until totally smooth ( about 4 minutes ). Use to frost cakes, as filling, on cup cakes or cookies. NOTES; Before using, make sure your cakes/cookies are totally cooled. For a filling very similar to Twinkie filling, substitute half or all of the butter with Crisco. |
