Instructions Wash and peel potatoes. Slice into desired sized fries and place into a bowl filled with ice water. Heat oil for deep frying ( the oil should be at least 2 1/2" deep ). When the oil is very hot, shake a handful of fries from water and drop carefully into the oil. You can use a strainer if you're not experienced in the kitchen. Remove the fries when they are starting to become golden yet still very light, wait 30 seconds and return them to the oil until fully golden brown. Remove from oil and drain well on paper towels. Salt, and serve right away. NOTES; To check if the oil is hot enough, flick a drop of water from your fingers into the oil. It should spatter. |
